Goodtask reminder vs task mac#
The CTRL + CMD + Space shortcut on the Mac is just too easy for quickly capturing tasks. I quickly learned how much I missed Things 3’s impeccable keyboard shortcuts. And I ensured “Mail to Things” was quickly implemented where possible. I eliminated a few areas I no longer need (buh bye “School”!!). I updated my recurring tasks with updated dates. So, as it goes, I’m back in Things 3 once more. (I’d like to see a task have the ability to be a timed event with a start and stop time.) And I just don’t like Spark as an email app. Fantastical’s task integration and timed events didn’t grow on me. I forgot to forward new emails from Spark to GoodTask. My diligence grew tired in those last few weeks though. Once you start to understand those buttons though, GoodTask can kickstart your Reminders app to a whole new level. I downloaded GoodTask, moved all my tasks from Things into Reminders and worked with GoodTask for about six weeks. (I’m well aware of Mail to Things, but I really wanted a direct integration.)Īnd so, I did an exploratory experiment.
The app is almost perfect (no, you still can’t check off a recurring task before it comes due) and it’s officially on the Sticky List for my devices.īut Things doesn’t play as nice with Siri as Reminders does it doesn’t sync with Reminders, ensuring I could check off tasks inside Fantastical and know they were also checked off in Things and (at the time), Things didn’t work directly with my email app of choice. Which is actually a long, long time ago already. I’ve used Things 3 since Things 3 debuted. Naturally, this sort of meant the demise of Things 3 in my workflow. I’m on a bit of a time-blocking kick still (though it has slowed a little recently) and work to ensure my calendar holds everything I need. What I wanted was pretty simple: I wanted to easily ask Siri to add a task to my list, have that task show up in my task app, and have those tasks show up in my calendar app as well. I promise, I didn’t change apps for the sake of changing apps. This was less “workflow” and more “How do I make sure I capture tasks when I’m thinking about them in the car?” and “How do I ensure I don’t miss that email?”. I went through an exploratory period regarding my “productivity workflow” (gah, I hate those words) not too long ago. You can write feedback to apple via to give them a bump. There and Back Again: My Things 3 Story Friday, Oct 01, 2021 There are things that Apple didn't open such as tags which 3rd party apps can't adjust. Goals, Reports, Today, Next page which expands the usage.Powerful widgets can be made and can be fully customized.
You can customize lots of things including looks with themes. You can add attachments on a task which will be saved via iCloud.Bulk action can be easily done to edit multiple tasks at once. You can use context menu right on the list to quickly adjust tasks.
Calendar events can be integrated in the list. You can view your tasks in various ways such as day, week, month views and board views.Other than that, I'll write down some key features. Both can be customized fully to make it fit your needs.
You can filter and sort tasks with Smart Lists and add/edit tasks quickly with Quick Actions. Smart Lists and Quick Actions are key differentiators. Most of the users get it when they want more powerful features than Reminders but still want to keep the features of Reminders which are deep integrations with the system. I'll give you brief answer to the questions. As I understand Reminders tags don’t work in GT? Reminders don’t have a start date, but tags ( I din’t use that, but thinking of it). GoodTask seems to be what I more or less need since Things3 makes me just moving todos around.
Goodtask reminder vs task trial#
And when I did I also downloaded the trial version 14 days I think) of GoodTask, since I read that it can be seen as an app that adds functions to Reminders. Tried Things3 but I am orobably not devited enough to GTD to feel at home with that apo. So I wanted to try some other solution, just in case. It hasn’t been updated for years and in M1 it runs in Rosetta. Since you are all GT users I thought this is best place to get help.
